Our Fruit Processing Experience

We are the pioneers of fruit processing in the state of Himachal Pradesh since last 40 years and we manage two well established brands in the state of Himachal.  At present we manage HIMCOOP and ASLI brand of fruit products and we own a shop at Manali.  We also manage 2 other factories at Kullu.

Mr Raghubir Singh aged 73 years is the main force behind this project and he wish to manage this factory, but due to lots of family reason he decided to sell this factory with his technical know how and all the support to run the factory to make sure his dream of providing employment and creating income to the people of Himachal is fulfilled.

Experiences

Self motivated and self made Shri Raghubir Singh, coming from a farming family near Bhambla, set up his home based fruit processing unit in the year 1966 at Bhuntar in Kullu district after reading and learning the fruit processing techniques from CFTRI Mysore.  He then manage to purchase land and built a small factory at village Mohal, under a cooperative society named "The Krishi Udyog Sehkari Sabha Ltd', with an idea of helping the poor apple orchardist of Kullu valley. He faced lots of odds during his carrier as fruit processors and cooperative manager, but he continued till day with good production line and providing employment to the farmers of himachal, through his continious efforts.  He is not a great manager as he have no management degree or business background.  He understands the difficulties faced by the farmers in marketing their produce so he is mostly more interested in fruit processing and finding the different process for every fruit that grows in his area. So he never earn big sums but earn lots of respect, friends and well wishers in his area.

Aim of Raghubir Singh - The Founder of Himcoop

The life aim of Sh. Raghubir Singh is to create employment for poors, by finding the ways to preserve whatever a small farmer can produce and market it in economical prices to the masses.  He always feels so touched when he manage to provide income to a very poor families by purchasing some of the wild vegetables they collect from the forest and sell it to his unit at village Mohal and he feels so touched when small school children brings it in their school bags to sell these vegetables to his factory.  His efforts are very small due to his lack of management skills and now he wish he could sell or find partners who can invest funds in his project and run the project based on his idea on commercial scale and he could be more useful for society by provinding income to more people in the area.
